icon Mechanical delivered the mechanical and plumbing scope across this confidential colocation data center campus, spanning multiple buildings totaling 70+ MW and 800,000+ SF. From the outset, icon brought constructability and BIM expertise to the table, providing full BIM support for the mechanical and plumbing systems and coordinating closely with the other trades to resolve clashes before they reached the field.

icon's preconstruction input drove the work toward off-site modular construction, and its value-added ideas improved system efficiency, constructability, and project economics while compressing the schedule.

Scope of Work

Mechanical

  • Installation of owner-provided precision cooling equipment
  • Mechanical systems including CRAH/CRAC units, air-cooled chillers, computer distribution units, RTUs, humidifiers, fans, split systems, and air-cooled condensing units
  • Distribution systems, chilled water and refrigerant piping, and insulation
  • Ductwork distribution
  • Heat trace and leak detection subcontracting
  • Generator exhaust installation and belly tank testing

Plumbing

  • Underground and overhead domestic water, sanitary, and storm systems
  • Overhead domestic water, sanitary, and storm systems
  • Key subcontractor management including excavation and insulation
