icon Mechanical served as general contractor for the Heartland Blender and Bonding Project at GKN Hoeganaes' active powder metallurgy manufacturing facility in Gallatin, Tennessee. The project introduced a fully integrated process systems upgrade—including a four-level process tower, chemical mixing systems, dust collection, and blending and bonding infrastructure—while keeping the plant in continuous operation throughout construction.
Executing a complex, multi-system installation without disrupting ongoing production required close coordination between construction and plant operations. icon managed the critical path in real time, phased permit work and pressure testing to protect equipment, and deployed an on-site VDC modeling station to accelerate issue resolution. Weekly coordination meetings kept all teams aligned from start to finish.
