icon Mechanical served as the mechanical contractor for 16,000 SF of plant growth rooms on the Monsanto (now Bayer) campus in Chesterfield, MO, delivering the project across two phases—first the utility infrastructure, then the growth-chamber systems. icon completed the work on time and to the owner's full satisfaction.

Scope of Work

Phase 1 — Utilities

  • Chilled water, RO water, and compressed air to all growth chambers
  • Hundreds of feet of underground lab waste run beneath 12" concrete floors to a central waste-treatment system
  • HVAC supply and exhaust routed from existing systems to bring fresh air to each room

Phase 2 — Growth-Chamber Infrastructure

  • Room air handlers, pump racks, and humidification dispersion systems
  • Perforated-panel ceiling system serving as a plenum to distribute air evenly throughout each room
